July 4, 2025— BROWN FEDORA BOOKS (www.brownfedorabooks.weebly.com), a writers consortium, is pleased to introduce Jim DeFilippi as its new Director of Writer Services.
With this assignment, Jim will be helping out writers (any and all, not just BFB authors) with their publicity, career, and current writing projects. All support will be completely free and on an “As Available” basis.
As a writing teacher, Jim spent thirty years in the classroom showing his students how to write well, and he has spent a lifetime helping out his fellow writers, everyone from the unpublished novice to the best-selling professional. In each of these pursuits, as a teacher and a colleague, he has thoroughly enjoyed himself.
As a writer, he had been described as a “prolific and eccentric American author with forty-five books and two and a half million words still is print.” His books have never sold well, but they have been praised by major publications and by fellow authors like George V. He has been a longtime member of the League of Vermont Writers, the Salem Writers Group, and the Carrot Cake Writers.
Jim started up BROWN FEDORA BOOKS in 2009 and remains its leader and biggest fan. As Director of Writer Services, he will be using his media presence to publicize writers’ latest works and projects, and will also be eager to give advice on any books or shorter pieces still in progress.
He is also well versed in the field of independent publishing and will assist writers choosing to take that path to publication.
