[Charleston, SC is always at the top of many “Best of …” lists, and it’s easy to see why. History abounds. The Lowcountry cuisine is distinctive and great. The Gullah/Geechee culture tinges everything with an intense regionality. Great beaches, sweeping marshes, Spanish moss, but the it also leaves you with a sense of queasiness about How this American Experience evolved. I’m glad to have visited, but don’t think I will come back. SB SM]

We love the Charleston area and have visited many times when visiting family or on vacation with friends. The history is stark and difficult but the beauty of the area is lovely. Enjoy and thaw out before returning to chilly Vermont.
