Monday Meanderings Around the Silverback World

SB Jim, of the Brown Fedora SBs writes: Stephen, I hope you and yours had a nice Thanksgiving. I’ve really been enjoying The Silverback Digest. Here are two websites you might be interested in featuring.  I’m not sure onto which of your daily categories they would fit, but they are fun sites for readers and writers.  Stay well. Stay healthy.  Keep fighting the good fight.

This site is like a TikTok for writers, intriguing snippets of less than 100 words.

Fate

For two weeks, I’ve noticed a beyond-handsome soldier waiting across the street from the stop two stops before mine. I’ve been trying to determine a casual way to meet him. On this morning, he smiles at me. Who am I to argue with fate?

Here’s another: http://www.wordsunboundstudio.com is a site for “word nerds.” Author-ly types can launch their projects, post their events, and feel to be among peers.

We dissect the craft of books to free your words to fly.

SB Greg (RI Silverbacks) requested the lyrics to Casserole Blues, but I can’t find ’em. I’ll keep looking. Here’s an excerpt:

I’ll make you an omelet

of anything you choose.

Put it in an omelet, and I’ll nuke it.

Gonna cure those casserole blues.

Casserole blues

Watercolor by Rachel Toll. Picked this up from SB Cyndy’s FB feed (Post Island SB Troop). SB Mike will be featured on Wednesday’s Meet the Silverbacks segment.

Three good friends went for a swim.

The one who was fat wished she was thin.

The one who was curvy wished she was clever.

The one who was clever wished she swam better.

The really great swimmer wished she was witty.

The one who was witty wished she was pretty.

All three friends thought the other two were just fine.

If only they could let their own bright light shine.

So throw on your swimsuit if you’re fat or you’re thin.

Bonobo

Enjoy fun and friendship …. love the skin that you’re in!

Preview of coming attractions: SB J of the Mendocino Bonobos has contributed a moving remembrance of the day Elvis Left the Building.
