Last Gasp: Summertime

[Remember … if you can … the last day of school. The bell rang, amd summer stretched before you ad infinitum. It was a glorious feeling of freedom, now eroded by the passing years.

When first the bell rings

the season stretches from here

to the end of time.

But August arrives

and we know it has come down

to a precious few.
