[Silverbelle Sandy took some photos in the early morning mist which made the daylilies even more vibrant. For lunch I made a garlic scape pesto, embellished with green onion and raw peas, and a small glass of red wine. Life is good. SB SM]

To make garlic scape pesto, take about a dozen scapes (the seed pod of the garlic) and put into a food processor with 1/3 cup walnuts (or almonds), 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese, juice of 1/2 lemon, and 1/3 cup olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. It’s that simple, but it don’t get no better than this.

Every year we take the same pictures, because every year the experience becomes just that much better.
Stephen: Inviting ,seasonal photos. A summer garden in Vt is special. Your spot, given an addition of deep blue and white hydrangeas, looks like our garden here in Brattleboro. On the other side of our interior stone wall, garlic, blueberries and cucumbers are also currently thriving.

Everything becomes precious at this time of year and this time of life! We also grow veggies and have an out of control blackberry patch. If you and your wife ever come up with way I will treat you to a glass of blackberry wine. (It’s actually very good, so I save it for special guests.)
Congratulations…you’ve just made our bucket list! See you in Vermont sometime!!
Your Cousins!
That would be very cool. Is a summer field trip in the cards for this year?
