Typical …

[A typical, lazy Silverback stunt. I stumble onto something–in this case a wonderful Buddy Guy Tiny Desk Concert–cut and paste the link coordinates, write a couple of sentences of introduction, and pat myself on the back for a good day’s work.

I do have a Buddy Guy story, however. For a few years Ben & Jerry’s sponsored a summer concert series. I went to one where Buddy Guy was the featured performer. At one point during one of his amazing 10 minute solos, he left the stage and walked out into the crowd. He had a wireless connection, so he did all this seamlessly while playing his guitar. He proceeded through the crowd, then entered a Porta-Potty, still wearing his guitar, and closed the door. The solo continued uninterrupted for a few moreminutes until the door re-opened and Buddy emerged, not missing a beat. I’ve seen Buddy play with his teeth, but this was an even better trick. What a Silverback! SB SM]

[And I also have to, somewhat reluctantly, confer Silverback status to Tom Jones. For a long time I dismissed him as a glitzy Vegas-type entertainer, but as he demonstrates in his own Tiny Desk Concert, he is the real deal. SB SM]
