I applaud all the creative geniuses who have given us the technology to replace carbon emission fuels, but they all have a down side. I have read (don’t remember the source) that just in California alone over a million solar panels a year are put into landfills because there is no economic way to recycle them and eventually poisonous chemicals leach into the groundwater. The huge blades on all the windmills that are on ridge tops chopping up migrating birds? Same thing, put them in landfills because they can’t be economically recycled. That doesn’t mean we can’t do better and shouldn’t keep trying, I just don’t think I’ll live long enough to get to where we need to be.
You’re completely correct, Silverback Jerry. In every industry I know of, the priority is on making the sale and pocketing the profits. Consideration for the greater good or the long-term health of the environment come much later, if at all.
