Expiration date long passed.
Verse 3 that nobody wants to hear about.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution!
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
I would pay money to hear the lady who sang at the home run derby sing this.
Some say Roseanne Barr’s rendition in 1990 bottoms the list:

There have been happy surprises along the way, however. Grateful Dead at Candlestick in 1993:
The country is especially mangled right now.
Always thought we should have a better theme song anyway.. an updated “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” or better yet “This Land Is Your Land”
We (Sliverback Jon and Silverbelle Pam) recently moved to IDAHO. This morning, our third morning here (July 5th), at 6:00am we awoke to someone in our neighborhood belting out a fairly mediocre rendition of The Star Spangled Banner. Of course, this being IDAHO, SB Jon automatically assumed the singer was a ……well, I don’t think we are supposed to get political in SBD comments, so, sufice to say Jon had a strong negative opinion regarding the political leanings of the singer. So at 6:00am in IDAHO in our brand new neighborhood he blasted out the window Marvin Gaye’s performance at the 1983 NBA All Star Game. So far we are still alive.
Atta boy, Jonny. You’ll soon be the most popular guy in the neighborhood.
Pam, better get yourself a gun!
