Dolly on the Silver Screen

Don’t forget to send pics for out “cutest grandkid” contest!

The official trailer for 9 to 5. This song and movie matched Dolly with feminist icons Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, doing more to popularize the women’s rights movement than any political demonstration.

In 1982 Dolly appears to have taken a step backwards. She tries to break up with Burt Reynolds, but in this clip you can see that he ain’t havin’ no part of it.

A couple of years later she’s trying to make a country star out of Rocky Balboa:

She then got back on the feminist bandwagon joining Sally Field (M’Lynn), Dolly Parton (Truvy), Shirley MacLaine (Ouiser), Daryl Hannah (Annelle), Olympia Dukakis (Clairee), and Julia Roberts (Shelby) in Steel Magnolias.

More recently she teamed up with Queen Latifah to complete her journey as crossover queen. As with everything else, Dolly has done it all.
