[Silverbelle Sandy took some photos in the early morning mist which made the daylilies even more vibrant. For lunch I made a garlic scape pesto, embellished with green onion and raw peas, and a small glass of red wine. Life is good. SB SM]

To make garlic scape pesto, take about a dozen scapes (the seed pod of the garlic) and put into a food processor with 1/3 cup walnuts (or almonds), 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese, juice of 1/2 lemon, and 1/3 cup olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. It’s that simple, but it don’t get no better than this.

Every year we take the same pictures, because every year the experience becomes just that much better.
